With 6+ million customers using Santander's mobile banking app every month, the core product team wanted to expand their user experience and empower customers to gain a better understanding of how they're spending their money.
The business put together a small team, to design and develop a new spending insight product named Spendlytics, a new iOS (Which also led to watchOS also) app giving customers a breakdown of their spending habits over a week, month or year. Customers have the ability to filter by category and even search by retailer.
Leading the product design alongside another talented designer, we worked to conceptualise the product, run initial product research, design the UX against provisional user needs, UI and validation.
