iOS & Android redesign

Santander
Working with an established bank to re-design their iOS and Android app from the ground up. Santander realised that their traditional development methods weren't delivering the proposition that their 6+ million monthly app customers deserved, consistently benchmarking under average in usability compared to other traditional banking competitors. The expectation for a good experience is so high for banking customers in today's day, they knew that it was time to catch up - especially with new Fin-tech start ups such as Monzo disrupting the industry, with a simple and valuable pre-paid, real-time payments proposition.

Leading the Product design alongside another talented designer in a core agile team, we set out to design a completely new experience for iOS and Android.

Working towards an initial MVP, we set out goals to:

1. Review the experience on iOS and Android, eliminating customer pain points through research and analytics.
2. Define a new information architecture, prioritised in hierarchy by user needs and feature interaction.
3. Provide a new and beautiful banking UI for iOS and Android, crafting a new design language for Santander and utilising native functionality for each platform.
Organising attributes of each banking product helped us design with a more holistic view of the entire banking experience, ensuring a coherent customer experience.
